About the guide

Our editorial standards

Practical, source-backed advice. Clear about what we know and how we know it.

Sources and verification

The first edition was researched against primary sources on 16 October 2026. Those include Isle of Man Government, the airport, Steam Packet, Isle of Man Transport, Manx National Heritage, official race organisers, wildlife organisations and named operators. Each guide lists the sources relevant to it. “Sources checked” describes a research date, not continuous monitoring.

Planning advice and reviews

Suggested bases, pacing and route combinations are editorial recommendations. They are not official journey guarantees. We do not invent authors, firsthand visits, hotel inspections, customer ratings, testimonials or tour availability. Named accommodation and experience examples are based on public operator and provider information, not personally tested recommendations. Guide drafts were assisted by AI and checked against the linked sources. The accommodation comparisons and named food stops use dated operator information; selection by location and trip needs is our editorial judgement. Research checks do not substitute for an on-the-ground visit, and no author profile or personal experience has been invented.

Information that changes

Opening days, conservation work, routes, fares, entry requirements, access rules and event arrangements may change after publication. We keep the evergreen explanation separate from the operator’s current detail, link readers to the responsible source and avoid duplicating live prices or future timetables across the site.

Commercial independence

Affiliate eligibility does not determine whether useful official information is linked. We include independent activities, public transport and direct attraction information whether or not it generates commission. Marked advertising and affiliate links are distinguished from ordinary editorial references.

Corrections and source disagreements

When official sources disagree, use the current responsible operator or government guidance rather than an older brochure. If you find a discrepancy, rely on the primary source for your immediate plans. This edition is published under the Isle of Man Insider name without individual bylines or a public contact address. Consult the responsible operator for current trip details.
